It's officially discontinued, which is a bummer, but apparently Google is in no rush to shut it down, so we'll keep as long as we can. We haven't found an alternative that we really like for now. My team also chose Wave over Campfire, and in fact we still use it for some things today. But given the current status of Wave, we are looking for a more long-term solution.
